The community of “City of Angels” County has taken huge steps in leading the fight against COV-ID 19, by addressing it as a multi-pronged problem and providing solutions to each layer of the problem : including education of the public, economic assistance for small businesses, legal assistance , and assistance in accessing food and supplies, and access to free Cov-id 19 testing. They have placed all of this information on one website, namely, https://corona-virus.la. In order to educate the public, they have given guidance on what symptoms should prompt someone to schedule a free COV-ID 19 test. “City of Angels” County has also listed educational resources on how to distinguish myth from fact, and listed data to help educate “CITY OF ANGELS” County residents about the extent of the problem. Furthermore, they have listed five easy steps for all residents to take to help stop the spread of Cov-19 . The decision to list five specific steps to take to prevent Cov-ID 19 on their website, is helpful because it gives residents concrete information, which assists in reducing feelings of helplessness among the public. The listing of links to the CDC, on this website, is also helpful, because the public can then quickly find all the information they need on COV-ID 19 in one place. The current information about symptoms and testing , while it will catch most cases of COV-ID 19 is not complete. For example, the way the educational information is presented on the website, could be changed to better ensure that asymptomatic people are tested. The website does a good job of explaining the need for self-quarantine if someone is asymptomatic and has been exposed to a COV-ID 19 case, under the tab of Frequently asked questions, orders and data. However, under the testing tab the website merely states, that you may be asymptomatic and still have COV-ID 19, but it does not state that you must self quarantine if you have exposed to COV-ID 19. In order to make sure this important information is not missed by individuals , it should be repeated under the testing tab. However, “CITY OF ANGELS” County could improve its educational guidance by providing access to a medical hotline, with 24 hour access, where the public could call and ask about symptoms, as a pre-screen. This will reduce the number of unnecessary tests conducted with patients who have other diseases, such as bacterial upper respiratory infections, and thus , decrease the consumption of limited resources such as COV-ID 19 tests.
The “CITY OF ANGELS” county website, however, does offer extensive legal help for residents, by providing free legal services to those affected by the COV-ID 19 pandemic through “CITY OF ANGELS” Represents, including “helping vulnerable tenants, domestic violence victims, and low-income residents with employment, consumer debt, and bankruptcy matters”. These free legal services also extend to small businesses who need legal help as they” face new workplace regulations, renegotiate commercial leases, apply for government relief programs, and navigate compliance with emergency health and safety orders. “ This legal aspect of COV-ID 19 is something that may have been overlooked by other counties, and is a critical need that has to be met.
